Thanks Joyce! The woman in the black dress is probably just a random person
crossing the river with us, it was a public felluca that would get you
across the river for 5 or 10 cents. I think you are right, I got the dates
wrong. We went to Egypt in 1974 or so. We weren't there for the consult.
When we arrived in Egypt, the ICA had been kicked out of Bayad (more
accurately, the foreigners left for a summer program, and we weren't
allowed back in), and it took a few months of negotiation to get back in.

I probably took the picture!
