Indeed a powerful article.  I have read a couple of Paul Farmer’s books which are most inspiring.  I recall that at least one of the Crocker twins worked with Farmer’s Partners in Health.

Another connection was with author Roald Dahl of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” fame, who is the father of one of the key figures in the report.  Two of our grandchildren are currently cast for that play. In Greensboro.  I can’t wait to share some highlights of this article with them about the author’s daughter and what she is doing with her life in service to others.

Article gets at one of the life questions I wrestle with these days.
Thirty years of experience has not made persevering any easier for Dahl.  "This work feels more crushing and sadder to me than it's ever felt--you see all the ways in which you've failed to do certain things, even though there's incremental progress," she said.  "I am unfailingly optimistic, though.  I think to not be optimistic is just about the most privileged thing you can be.  If you can be pessimistic, you are basically deciding that there's no hope for a whole group of people who can't afford to think that way."
