[Dialogue] Death of Yap Kim Hao

Though I didn't know him well, I came to greatly appreciate Bishop Yap and
his profound practicality. His book, "Doing Theology in a Pluralistic
World" (Nashville: Methodist Book House, 1990) could well be a primer for
anyone concerned about living effectively in a world of diversity. He was a
scholar as well as a practitioner and spent at least a year as a visiting
professor at Perkins School of Theology in Dallas. I was honored to meet
him in Malaysia and to publish a review of his book. His insights seem all
the more relevant today, and his promotion of them will be missed. As
others have noted, his contribution to our common mission was substantial,
and he joins that "great cloud of witnesses" from whom we all draw
sustenance.

Thanks, Dharma, for letting us know of his completed life.
